CALZADOS FAL receives the Medal for Merit at Work given by the European Association of Economy and Competitiveness

Calzados Fal, manufacturer of the prestigious footwear brand Chiruca®, leader in the outdoor boots and footwear sector, received the Golden Medal for Merit at Work last Friday, the 16th of February. This award recognizes its professional path and is given by th European Association of Economy Competitiveness (AEDEEC).

This event took place in the Hotel Eurostars Suites Mirasierra in Madrid, last Friday the 16th of February. The act, presented by the journalist Ana García Lozano, counted on the presence of the president of the European Association of Economy and Competitiveness, José Luis Barceló, publisher and director of the Spanish journal El Mundo Financiero, who was in charge of giving the Golden Medal and Lace to Manuel Abad Urquijo, Manager of Calzados Fal S.A.

This award commemorates the success of companies with an exemplary path in Spain or/and in the E.U. thanks to their practices and initiatives that support the entrepreneur spirit and conscience.

From its foundation in 1965, Calzados FAL has maintained an unstoppable evolution in terms of production process, and the following improvements in designs and in materials has driven the CHIRUCA trademark to lead the sector of sport and spare time specialized boots and footwear. The experience gathered as manufacturer during more than 50 years joins the activity of its R&D department. Furthermore the activity of the Spanish Company does not limit to be a mere tool for production of goods. The commitment of Calzados Fal to the Society is reflected in multiple collaborations made through its history, besides it is a committed Company to the environment that works in the sustainability field and has got the Carbon Footprint Registration issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of the Government of Spain.

This award is addressed to professionals of all sectors that helps the economic expansion, the employment development and the increase of the standard of life of the States, to promote the investigation and development of the new measures and technologies and the strengthening of a healthy competitiveness, and CSR policies.

The medal, given by the European Association of Economy and Competitiveness represents the excellence and the entrepreneurial mind-set, the contribution to a European, sustainable and inspiring business environment, where a social and economic development is promoted.
